Lavenham Pre-School wins RIBA design award for architect firm

Lavenham Pre-School has won its designer a prestigious architecture award.

Scotts of Thrapston has been awarded the RIBA Suffolk Design award for the design.

The building which sits next to Lavenham Village Hall is a carbon efficient timber-framed structure primarily offering pre-school education for 48 children aged two to five.

Judges praised the light and airy building which they said sat well next to the village hall, designed by the same architect, and the use of materials of high quality.

The building also offers a purpose-built play space and large outdoor area.
