Merrifields completes 'one of the largest office lettings' in Bury St Edmunds for years
A firm of property consultants has hailed the demand for offices in Bury St Edmunds after completing 'one of the largest office lettings' in the town for years.
Merrifields has let offices at Blenheim House, in Newmarket Road, to RSM UK, a business and accounting services company based in Hollow Road.
Rowan Mason, agency surveyor at Merrifields, said the 12,289 sq ft space was 'one of the largest office lettings for many years' in Bury St Edmunds and RSM UK was looking to 'improve their office position' in the town.
He said: "It shows there is still very much demand for offices in the market and while working from home will continue to be part of working it shows the office remains a fundamental part of the way businesses function.
"For Bury in particular, it shows it is still very much a town that attracts professional service occupiers."
Laragh Jeanroy, RSM office managing partner in Bury St Edmunds, said a 'belief in the future of offices' and their commitment to 'serving the middle market in East Anglia' was behind the move to new premises.
"During this time of cautious recovery from the pandemic, RSM is embracing new ways of working to harness the benefits technology and different styles of working have afforded us, our colleagues and clients during lockdown," she said.
"RSM is continuing to support direct employment in the region and the investment in the new office space will enable us to grow a more dynamic team through flexible working.
"It comes as no surprise that a hybrid model of work will be the future for many sectors, and we believe the new office will create a more conducive workplace for collaboration and the modern worker through its design and technology."
