Costa drive-through at Suffolk Business Park, on edge of Bury St Edmunds, a step closer after revised signage approved

A proposed Costa drive-through on the edge of Bury St Edmunds is a step closer after revised signage plans were approved.

West Suffolk Council has backed an application for various signage at the Costa on land south of General Castle Way at Suffolk Business Park.

A report to the authority said amended plans, from Churchmanor Estates Company PLC and Costa Ltd, were received after concerns were raised about the light level, visibility and clutter of a rooftop sign, which has now been omitted from the proposal.

A report said the plan was now considered acceptable.

A drive-through McDonald’s is also due to be built at the site.

When initially proposed, Churchmanor said the £6million development could create more than 130 jobs.
