Rail lines disrupted after person hit by train between Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket
Train lines between Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket are blocked after someone was hit by a train.
Greater Anglia reported at about 7pm that it will be unable to run trains between the two towns due to an accident.
An eyewitness said emergency services are present at Elmswell Station.
A spokesperson for Greater Anglia said: “We're sad to inform you that a person was hit by a train between Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds, and we are unable to run any trains between these stations.
“We will be supporting the emergency services and Network Rail response teams to re-open the line as soon as possible, but we currently do not have an estimated time for this.”
Trains between Ipswich and Peterborough, via Ely, as well as Ipswich and Cambridge, are also affected.
