Around one-third of the Sun is expected to be covered as the Moon passes in front of it.

People will have the chance to see the Moon cover about 30 to 50 per cent of the Sun at its peak, with the best chance of clear skies in south-east England, East Anglia and the Midlands, according to the Met Office.

Saturday's event marks Europe's last partial solar eclipse of 2025.

The only other partial eclipse this year will take place over New Zealand and Antarctica in September.

The eclipse won't be total anywhere in the world, however northeastern regions of Canada will see up to 92 per cent of the Sun covered.

This partial eclipse will be visible across Europe, Northwestern Africa, Greenland, Iceland, and parts of the northeastern US and eastern Canada.
