Cancer Research UK Relay For Life 2024 returns to Nowton Park in Bury St Edmunds




Registrations are open to take part in a fund-raising relay event returning to Bury St Edmunds for its 15th year.

The 2024 Cancer Research UK Relay For Life is a family festival celebrating community fund-raising in the fight against cancer and this year's event will return to Nowton Park on Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7.

The 24-hour relay sees teams of participants take it in turns walking around the track with the opening lap being walked by survivors at midday on the Saturday.

Another anticipated moment is the Candle of Hope ceremony at dusk as well as other themed laps and activities.

Organisers are hoping to see the return of teams that have taken part before and to hear from any Suffolk-based companies which would like to sponsor an aspect of the weekend event.

The total amount raised by the event is expected to surpass half a million pounds since the relay started at The British Sugar Sports and Social Club sports field.

The fund-raiser then moved to Ickworth House and is now held at Nowton Park.
