Bury St Edmunds Nostalgia - Street parties galore to celebrate Queen’s Diamond Jubilee

After the Platinum Jubilee festivities we're transporting you back 10 years to 2012 when it was parties galore as communities across the nation celebrated The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

There was plenty to entertain in Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding area.

A massive street party was staged in Ixworth, while roads in Bury got out the party hats, flags, picnic tables and chairs and marquees in a sea of red, white and blue.

Beacons were lit and music played over the four day holiday to mark the 60 year reign.

The Abbey Gardens proved a crowded spot as families defied the overcast weather on the Monday to brighten up the day enjoying live 50s music, jive dancing and a host of games.
