Around 800 properties in Thurston without access to landlines after cables stolen
Residents in Thurston have been left without access to their landlines after 500 metres of cable were stolen.
Villagers first reported the issue yesterday and remain without access to their telephones this morning.
A spokesperson for Openreach said: "We had 500 metres of cable stolen, which is causing disruption to telephone services to around 800 properties in the Thurston area. Broadband is unaffected."
Engineers have been working overnight to solve the problem and re-connect people today.
Suffolk Police have been approached for comment.
