Bury St Edmunds residents left without water this morning after pump failure
Hundreds of water customers have been left without water this morning in Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding area.
A water pump failure was reported, with some residents experience low pressure, cloudy water and in some cases, no water at all.
Several areas in the town have been affected, including parts of the Moreton Hall estate and the east of the town. People in Fornham St Martin, Fornham All Saints, Little Livermere, Ampton and Culford Heath are also experiencing issues.
Although the pumps have since been restarted, Anglian Water said that issues may still remain.
A statement on their website said: "Thanks for your patience; we've now been able to restart the pumps for this area.
"Even though the water is back, it may look a little cloudy or discoloured, but if you run your tap for a few minutes it should clear.
"If you're still having a problem with low pressure or no water, or your water isn't clearing after running the tap, please call us on 03457 145 145."
