Suffolk's most dangerous neighbourhoods revealed according to December police crime figures




Thousands of crimes are reported to police in Suffolk each month, including anti-social behaviour, burglary and violent offences – but where are the worst hotspots for recorded crimes in the county?

Figures collated by SuffolkNews reveal some of the most dangerous areas in the county, based on the number of crimes reported in the latest month which has data available – December.

Below you can search for your street to find out if Suffolk Police have logged any crimes in your neighbourhood, and we also reveal how many crimes have been reported in some of the county's biggest towns.

Within the three policing neighbourhoods in Ipswich - Central, East and West - there was a total of 1,210 crimes reported in the month.

Violence and sexual offences were the most frequent type of crimes reported within the three areas, with a total of 506.

In Lowestoft, 586 crimes were reported in December, the most common of which were violence and sexual offences, with 258 during the month, followed by 74 reports of anti-social behaviour.

Ipswich Central recorded the next highest total of crimes, with 478 reported, 170 of which were violence and sexual offences.

In Ipswich West there were 433 in total, which was made up of 186 violence and sex offences and 46 criminal damage and arson reports, amongst others.

December saw 404 crimes reported in Bury St Edmunds. Home Office data reveals there were 182 violence and sexual offences and 41 public order offences reported.

Stowmarket was the next highest area for crime, with a total of 323 crimes recorded in the area, 148 of which were violence and sexual offences.

In Ipswich East, 299 crimes were reported in the month of December - 150 were violence and sex offences and 26 were anti-social behaviour.

In Haverhill, there were 248 crimes reported, data from the Home Office revealed, along with 245 in Sudbury and 163 in Felixstowe.

Hadleigh was next wih 151, while there were 144 crimes reported in Newmarket.

Police data shows there were 120 crimes recorded in the Woodbridge area, while Leiston had 111, Beccles and Bungay had 104, Mildenhall had 94 and Brandon had 81.

Halesworth had 66 crimes while Eye had the fewest with 38.
