Paloma Faith takes to the stage for Forest Live in Thetford Forest, days before performing at Glastonbury
Last night Paloma Faith stopped off in Suffolk a few days ahead of performing on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage.
SuffolkNews was lucky enough to secure a VIP invite to the latest of the Forest Live gigs at High Lodge - this is what we thought.
After being treated to a partly shirtless performance from Paloma’s talented support artist Kojey Radical, me and my sister edged to the front of the crowd.
Paloma bounced on stage in an eye-catching flamenco inspired outfit, complete with red lace gloves and leather accessories.
The singer/songwriter did not hold back ahead of her Glastonbury performance and her voice sounded amazing throughout the concert.
I was pleased to recognise the mast majority of her songs and my highlights were the dance numbers; Lullaby and Changing.
My sister loved the final track of the night Only Love Can Hurt Like This, arguably Paloma’s biggest hit which amusingly she had to restart after forgetting the words.
There was genuine warmth from the singer and the crowd as Kojey Radical returned to the stage for the duet and the pair had a fantastic, laid-back chemistry.
But the show wasn’t all about the music, the mum-of-two is not afraid of sharing her opinions on men, single motherhood and divorce.
She was funny, ranty and scatty as she spoke about her recent breakup, it really was like a little mini stand up routine/ TED Talk as she told the men in the crowd to ‘do better’.
I wouldn’t mess with Paloma, throughout the night she was constantly giving instructions to the production team. She is a woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to ask for it.
After a day of feeling the mum, work, wife guilt a night out with my sister singing, dancing and laughing was the tonic I needed.
Today I am feeling a little bit more Paloma, minus the gloves, and look forward to watching her Glastonbury set at the weekend - sadly on TV.
Tom Jones and Olly Murs are set to perform at Forest Live over the weekend.
