Guinness heir sits at top of East Anglia Sunday Times Rich List

Lord Iveagh has again been placed among the top names in this year's Sunday Times Rich List.

The Guinness heir, who owns the 22,500 acres Elveden Estate, is said to have £922 million in wealth placing him third in the East Anglia region with an increase in wealth of £32 million on the previous year.

Elveden is said to produce six per cent of the nation's onions and the family stake in Diago, the drinks giant that owns Guinness is thought to worth £260 million.

The family fortune is also tied up in Canadian interests held via British Pacific Properties which amount to £400 million.

Kirsten Rausing tops the list with a fortune of £10.84 billion. She runs two stud farms in Suffolk and is a member of the Jockey Club.

Former Foxtons estate agency owner Jon Hunt comes in second with a fortune of £1.4 billion.
