Road near Nowton Park in Bury St Edmunds flooded after heavy rain




Flooding has been reported on a key road near a Bury St Edmunds beauty spot this morning.

Following heavy rain, Nowton Road, near Nowton Park, is water logged with reports of traffic at one stage being unable to get through.

The AA said traffic on a section of the road near the park is moving slowly.

Residents across Suffolk have been warned to expect flooding, with heavy rain due to hit the county throughout the day.

The Environment Agency said river levels are high and are expected to continue to rise throughout the day.

Meanwhile, a lane on the A14 near Bury St Edmunds has been closed due to 'severe flooding'.
