Royal British Legion Torch of Remembrance comes to Thetford




A Royal British Legion Torch of Remembrance relay came to Thetford last week.

Starting from the Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres, Belgium, it went to 11 places in Norfolk to say thank to all those involved in World War One.

The Torch of Remembrance went across the county to commemorate those that made the ultimate sacrifice in World War One.

Mayor Roy Brame was joined by Thetford RBL branch chaplain Rev Helen Jary, parade marshal and vice chairman John Waine, chairman Roger Smith and standard bearer, Peter Rae.

Master of ceremonies, Mike Wabe, James Blackman and Rory Donoghue from Thetford Grammar School and Hugh King from Norfolk County RBL also attended the ceremony.
