Royal West Suffolk College event raises £50,000
A presentation was held on Tuesday following a prestigious charity evening at St Edmundsbury Cathedral by culinary arts students from West Suffolk College last year.
The event kick started the celebrations of the 1,000th anniversary of the founding of Suffolk’s great Abbey.
An outstanding £50,000 was raised from the event and the auction to go to three Suffolk hospices.
Representatives from East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, St Nicholas Hospice Care and St Elizabeth Hospice were present as recipients of the money raised from the evening and the auction.
Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, Lady Clare Countess of Euston, also attended both the charity event and the presentation.
