Headteacher Helen Ashe said: “Schools that are able to show good practice in their computing curriculum and procedures can apply for the Computing Quality Mark, which is awarded by STEM Learning on behalf of the National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE).

“The evidence we submitted was verified by an independent assessor, who confirmed that we demonstrated the required level of attainment.

“We were therefore awarded the NCCE Computing Quality Mark for excellence in computing curriculum delivery having reached the required standard across all the dimensions of the Computing Quality Framework.

“We are delighted that Barrow is the first school in Suffolk to receive this award.”

To achieve this award, the school has worked closely with the Suffolk & Colchester Computing Hub, which has supported it with its curriculum development and the Quality Mark application process.
