Year-long project to transform library at Cockfield Primary School, near Bury St Edmunds, is complete
A school library has been transformed into ‘a bright, colourful, and inviting space’ for pupils.
The year-long project at Cockfield C of E Primary School, near Bury St Edmunds, saw the school work closely with a variety of local organisations and individuals to develop the design of the library and fund-raise.
Executive headteacher Marc Gilbert said the children now had a ‘fantastic library space, filled with books and opportunities to spark their imagination’.
He said: “Cockfield Primary School is thrilled to announce the completion of a year-long project to transform our school library into a bright, colourful, and inviting space for our children.
“The Women's Institute, the Freemasons, the parish council, the community council, Lavenham Library and our dedicated Friends of Cockfield School Association (FOCSA) have all played pivotal roles in making this project a reality.
“Their generous donations of time, resources, and funding have helped to shape this new area into a hub for learning and a vibrant space where children can feel inspired, creative and share their love of reading.”
He said the project had shown what is possible when a community works together with a shared goal.
He added: “As we celebrate the reopening of our new library, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us throughout this journey.
“This success is not just ours as a school but belongs to the whole Cockfield community and embodies the values which Cockfield Primary School holds at its heart: We care, share and learn together.”
