Golfers tee off for successful Rotary charity golf day at Bury St Edmunds Golf Club

A charity golf day organised by two Bury St Edmunds organisations last Wednesday was a resounding success.

Bury Golf Club, on Tut Hill, Fornham All Saints, hosted the golf day in partnership with the Rotary Club of Bury joined by the Rotary Club of Bury Abbey, with 17 teams of four players taking part.

The 68 golfers were treated to bacon sandwiches and coffee on arrival and then teed off together with a shotgun start. They took to the greens of the club while raising funds for local charities and good causes.

After a tight competition the winning team went into the lead. Prizes were awarded to the top three teams.

Ed Crichton, partner of Lacy Scott and Knight, raised further funds with a lively auction of golf days, cream teas and dinners.

There was also a raffle.

The Rotary Club of Bury meets on Tuesday evenings at Bury St Edmunds and Farmers Club. New members are welcome.
