About 1,800 people watch Thurston Community College production of Legally Blonde The Musical, near Bury St Edmunds




A college’s production of Legally Blonde The Musical has been hailed a ‘resounding success’.

About 1800 people attended the Thurston Community College show across the run of five performances last week.

More than 150 young people between the ages of 11 to 18 took part, both on and off stage, including a live student band and technical team.

Natasha Barnes-Smith, head of performing arts, said: “Our 2024 college production of Legally Blonde The Musical has been a resounding success and showcases our students at their very best; whether on stage, in the band, behind the scenes or as part of the front of house team.

“Each and every young person has blown us away with their unwavering commitment, attitude and talent throughout the production process!”

One audience member, who made a 140-mile round trip from Billericay to watch the show, said they had a ‘thoroughly brilliant night’.

“The casting, the acting, the live student band along with all the technical and backstage work was excellent," they said.

Legally Blonde The Musical was presented by Thurston Community College, near Bury St Edmunds, by arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
