Homebase stores in Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury have been put on the market after company collapses

Two Homebase stores in Suffolk have been put on the market after the DIY and garden chain entered administration.

Administration sale signs have gone up in the Bury St Edmunds store, which appears on a list of 74 stores around the country, which have gone on the market, including Sudbury.

The DIY retailer, which lost £84.2million last year, was sold to retail group CDS, which owns The Range.

The rescue deal secured up to 1,600 jobs and 70 stores across the country.

However the company appointed administrators at Teneo last Wednesday which has now placed 74 leasehold stores on the market.

These include 62 stores in England, four in Scotland and four in Northern Ireland. There are also three stores in the Republic of Ireland and one in Wales.

The Felixstowe and Newmarket stores are not included in the list of stores up for sale.

A deadline of Friday November 29 has been set for the sale of the stores on the market, or they risk closure if a new buyer is not found.
