Six crews of firefighters called to house blaze in Cavenham near Bury St Edmunds
Six fire crews tackled a 'rapidly developing' house blaze in Cavenham, near Bury St Edmunds, yesterday evening.
Firefighters from across West Suffolk attended the incident on The Street from about 5.40pm.
A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said two people had been in the property at the time of the fire and they had both vacated the building prior to the firefighters' arrival.
Ambulance crews treated them at the scene for minor burns and potential smoke inhalation.
The fire service spokesman said the blaze was 'brought under control quickly' and crews remained on scene for hours damping down and checking for any remaining hot spots.
Crews began leaving the scene from about 7.30pm.
Posting on Twitter yesterday evening, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said six appliances had attended a 'rapidly developing' fire in Cavenham.
