Brandon Rattlers Road six-home plans granted approval by West Suffolk Council despite parish council concerns

Proposals for six new homes in a Suffolk town have been granted approval by planners, despite parish council concerns.

The plans, which were submitted by Rees Pryer Architects in December 2021 and approved on Tuesday, March 28, will see the half-dozen homes built at former garden of Brandon Cottage in Rattlers Road, Brandon.

A new access road from Walton Way to the west of the site will also be built, with other matters to be discussed at a later stage.

Brandon Town Council had safety concerns around the access to the new properties, noting a lack of pedestrian pathways and resident parking in Walton Way.

However, the development of the site was supported by Brandon councillor Victor Lukaniuk, who said: "It may be a small step toward correcting a broken housing delivery system in Brandon."

Each of the homes will have a private driveway, parking for three cars and there will be storage for bikes within their garages.
