Bury St Edmunds slimmer sheds more than 6st after winning her battle of the binge
A super-slimmer is looking forward to the New Year after shedding more than 6st in under a year.
Milly Stubbs, from Bury St Edmunds, decided to lose weight in February 2020 just before lockdown.
The 27-year-old was fed up of battling her weight which had spiralled out of control over the previous four years.
Milly joined the Slimming World group in Bury St Edmunds and hasn’t looked back.
“My start weight was 17st 6lbs and I am now 11st 3lbs with just a few more pounds to go to hit my target weight, for my height of 6ft 1inches,” said Milly, a sociology Masters Degree student.

“Things got out of control in 2016 after I moved to Manchester to study and started binge eating.
"I had lost my mum the year before and my dad in 2010, and I also suffered from depression for a while.
Food was a comfort and I would snack on all the wrong things like crisps, chocolate and sweets.
“I decided at the start of last year to give it another go at losing weight and lockdown actually helped with my focus, and the fact that I wasn’t able to socialise so much and go out with friends for drinks and a pizza afterwards for example.”
Milly had also been finding it difficult to find clothes.
“I was a a size 18/20 and though you could find some things, it wasn’t easy,” she said.
“I am now a size 10/12 and it is so much easier.”
Losing weight has also helped Milly’s mental and physical health, too.
“Being overweight definitely affected both my physical and mental health and both of these have improved,” she said.
“Walking and running is also easier now and I am a lot happier, all round.
"The Slimming World plan enables you to eat heathily, never feel hungry, with weekly weigh-ins and a supportive environment.”
Slimming consultant, Julie Steele, said: “Milly has transformed her life in front of my eyes. This year has thrown so many hurdles at people, but nothing stops this lady.”
