Second Chance Stroke Group has been able to enjoy a Christmas meal courtesy of a grant given by the Suffolk Community Foundation.

Most stroke sufferers are elderly and many have limited mobility and limited opportunities to socialise.

Second Chance Stroke Group brings survivors together to discuss their experiences, while providing neuro-physiotherapy and cognitive therapy.

Fund-raising and grants are very important to the club and anyone wanting to help raise funds can make contact on the group’s Facebook page.

The group meets on Tuesdays at Great Barton Village Hall.

Peter Marsh, volunteer for the group, said: “Social interaction helps with rehabilitation. To ensure no-one is excluded, we fund taxis to ferry members to the club.”
