Thurston Community College students become anti-bullying ambassadors following training run by The Diana Award

Students have been trained to tackle bullying through a scheme that is supported by His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge.

Young people from Thurston Community College in Thurston, near Bury St Edmunds, have become anti-bullying ambassadors at their school after they gained 'vital' skills during a free one-day training session run by The Diana Award.

The 20 students aged 11-18 who took part on October 6 learned how to change the attitudes and behaviours of bullying in their school by building their skills and confidence to address different situations, both online and off.

Year 13 student Jess said: “I’m really excited this programme is now up and running and it feels great knowing I’m making a positive impact.”

The newly-trained anti-bullying ambassadors have recently led assemblies on the topic at the main Thurston campus for Years 7-11.
