Suffolk-based Chestnut Group acquires 60-bedroom Le Strange Arms hotel, in Old Hunstanton
A Suffolk-based hospitality group has acquired a new 60-bedroom hotel on the Norfolk coast.
The Chestnut Group, based in Higham, has snapped up Le Strange Arms, in Old Hunstanton.
The hotel has beachside access, self-catering lodges and The Mariner Pub among its amenities.
Alongside the acquisitions of The Old Bridge, in Huntingdon, and The Maltings, in Weybourne, Le Strange Arms represents part of the group’s latest concept of ‘Big Houses’.
Philip Turner, Chestnut founder and managing director, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have acquired this iconic venue.
“I have personally known the property for many years and am honoured to have the opportunity to navigate Le Strange Arms and The Mariner pub in the next leg of its journey.
“Our model has always been about identifying destination properties in the East of England, bringing in investment, working with our communities and building a guest experience to be proud of.”
The addition of Le Strange Arms to the group comes shortly after the acquisitions of The Lifeboat Inn and The Chequers Inn earlier this year.
It also recently sold its Bury St Edmunds hotel, The Northgate, which was the subject of plans to turn it a house last week.
Chestnut Group’s other Suffolk properties include The Black Lion, in Long Melford, The Pack Horse, in Moulton, The Weeping Willow, in Barrow, The Ship at Dunwich and The Westleton Crown.
