Suffolk businesses in Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds attract more than £200,000 fines over illegal working




Suffolk businesses have been fined more than £200,000 over illegal working.

The Government has released its quarterly report listing UK businesses which have received fines for illegal working, covering the period between October 1 and December 31.

The report lists fines given to employers who did not pay or were not making regular payments toward a penalty, as well as those who were served with a second or further penalty after objection or appeal rights were exhausted.

In Suffolk, three businesses were named, amounting to £205,000 in fines.

Porters Fish Ltd, in 29 Constable Road, and Wongs Cherry Tree, in Tye Green, both in Sudbury, were served a £45,000 and £120,000 fine respectively.

Juicebros, in Gosnold Street, Bury St Edmunds, was served a further £40,000 fine.
