Channel 4's First Dates appearance for Little Saxham groundworker

A Suffolk man who appeared on Channel 4's First Dates last week has spoken about his experience on the popular show.

Rory Dodds, from Little Saxham, took part on the September 13 show, after applying for it during August Bank Holiday last year.

The 24 year-old groundworker, said: "It was my mate's mum who said I should really go for it and go on there,

"I applied on the Sunday, got a call on the Tuesday, was asked to go up to Manchester the next day and the filming took place on the Friday."

On the show, which is now in its 17th season, he met Ella, from Peterborough, and though he says the date went well and that they got on like a house on fire it just did not work out.

Rory described the whole experience as 'amazing', said the crew were lovely throughout and did not regret anything about it.

On what he would say to people who were thinking of going on the show, he said: "Just do it, you only live once for these sorts of opportunities.

"Life is for living and what is the worst that can happen?"

Though he did not find love on the show, Rory said he now has a girlfriend and could not be happier.
