This data was collected through average keyword monthly search and based on a comparison in search trend data from May 2019 to May 2021.

The research also found that 46 per cent of British people are still unclear on the rules surrounding travelling abroad, suggesting tourists may be opting for 'staycation' options which see them travel within the UK due to continued Covid uncertainty.

Also making the top ten list are Somerset, Brighton, Kent, Norfolk, Shropshire and the Scottish Highlands.

The top three spots went to Devon, The Cotswolds and Cornwall.
