'Suffolk Susan' from Mildenhall takes on The Chase
A retired prison voluntary worker from Mildenhall has appeared on ITV's The Chase.
Susan Kathleen, 74, appeared on the show on Tuesday and took on chaser Jenny Ryan, known on the show as 'The Vixen'.
She was the first to step up from the team of four to meet host Bradley Walsh, who said Mildenhall was 'A beautiful part of the world'.
Telling him about her hobbies, Susan said she was part of the local knit and natter group- though jokingly confessed to do more nattering than knitting.
With any money she won she hoped to fund a holiday to Israel.
In the 'cash builder' round with questions about things such as Alexander the Great, space walking and the Nirvana track 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', Susan managed to get £2,000.
Though she wanted to take on 'The Governess', chaser Anne Hegerty, as she reminded Susan of her old head mistress, she was up against The Vixen, who called her 'Suffolk Susan'.
After a low offer of £200, a high offer of £22,000 and consulting her team, she stuck with £2,000.
But it was not to be as after failing to answer three questions correctly she was caught by the chaser and sent home.
