Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds announces line-up for this year's Christmas pantomime Cinderella including Chris Clarkson, famous for starring in Hollyoaks, Emmerdale and A Touch of Frost




The Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds has announced their line-up for this year's Christmas pantomime.

This year's pantomime will be Cinderella, and is due to take place between Friday, November 26 and Sunday, January 16, 2022.

Actor Chris Clarkson, who is famous for starring in Hollyoaks, Emmerdale and A Touch of Frost, will play Kylie Grizzle, one of Cinderella's ugly step-sisters. Clarkson is popular among the Theatre Royal audience, having performed in Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty and Dick Whittington in previous years.

Joining Chris will be Craig Painting, who is also making a return to the theatre's stage. Mr Painting recently played the camp counsellor in Louis Sachar's Holes, and will play Cinderella's other ugly sister, Mylie Grizzle.

Beth Tuckey, who is best-known for her role in the stage production of An Inspector Calls, has landed the role of the step-mum.

Occupying the role of Cinderella will be Becky Sanneh. Becky recently graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and is credited for performance in Addams Family and Elegies for Angels.

Cinderella's fairy godmother will be Rosemary Annabella Nkrumah, who played the role of Diana Ross in the ITV drama about the singer.

Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama-trained Howie Michaels will feature as the Lovable Buttons. Dolores Van-Dini will be brought to life by Felicity Houlbrooke, while Prince Roger will be played by Samuel Knights.

The Theatre Royal is looking for performer aged between 10 and 18 to join the Young Chorus.
