Bury St Edmunds hotter than Ibiza as temperatures soar to 30 degrees

Temperatures in Suffolk are set to soar to 30 degrees today - making it hotter than some popular holiday destinations.

A heatwave is forecasted for Bury St Edmunds with temperatures expected to hit 30 degrees from 2pm, according to the Met Office.

The forecasters’ data is showing that it will be warmer in the town than in Ibiza, which is expecting highs of 28 degrees.

Suffolk's weather will also surpass temperatures in parts of Portugal, such as Alcobaca and Aveiro, and it will match those in Barcelona.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions to stay cool during the peak heat.
