Suspended sentence for Cash Convertors burglar




A Thetford man has been given a suspended prison sentence after admitting a

burglary at a Cash Convertors store.

Belvin Coney,40, of Ash Road, stripped a display cabinet at the premises in St Andrews

Street, Bury St Edmunds of jewellery and watches.

Coney had forced his way into the shop in the early hours of July 17, by kicking in

the front door.

He appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday after pleading guilty to an

offence of burglary. The items he stole were worth £4,361.

Judge Emma Peters sentenced Coney to 11 months imprisonment suspended for

two years.

He must also complete 160 hours of unpaid community work and participate

in a ten day rehabilitation requirement programme.
