Bury St Edmunds taxi hit by flying vacuum cleaner in Out Westgate

A taxi was hit by a flying vacuum cleaner after a cable was tied around a lamppost and spread across a road in Bury St Edmunds.

Suffolk Constabulary said the taxi was damaged in the incident in Out Westgate at about 3am on Saturday.

The power cable to the vacuum cleaner was wrapped around a lamppost and spread across the road.

The cable was caught by a passing taxi, which propelled the vacuum into the road and hit the vehicle, denting and scratching it.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area before the incident.

Anyone driving in Out Westgate in the early hours of Saturday morning with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle is asked to review the footage.
