Teenager accused of administering hydrogen peroxide on three people in two separate incidents in Bury St Edmunds

An 18-year-old has appeared in court charged with administering hydrogen peroxide on three people in two separate incidents in Bury St Edmunds.

Kyelan Conaty, of Elm Drive, in Walsham-le-Willows, appeared at Ipswich Magistrates' Court today (July 23) charged with two counts of administering a poison or other destructive or noxious thing, namely hydrogen peroxide , with intent to injure, aggrieve or annoy.

One count is in connection with an incident on Tuesday night when armed police were called to reports an unknown liquid had been thrown in the face of a man, in his 20s, in St Olaves Precinct car park, on the Howard estate.

The man suffered minor injuries, was taken to hospital for treatment and discharged the same evening.

Three teenage boys, aged 16, 17 and 18, were arrested on suspicion of assault and Conaty was charged yesterday.

In the second charge, he allegedly administered hydrogen peroxide to two females in Bury St Edmunds on July 14.

At magistrates' court today, he did not enter pleas and was remanded in custody to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on August 20 via video link.

The 16 and 17-year-olds have been released on bail until August 5.

Officers would like to hear from any further witnesses who may have been in the area shortly before or after the incident or who may have captured any dash-cam footage while driving nearby.
