Teenager arrested and charged in Bury St Edmunds after Suffolk Police find him in possession of knife

A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged with possession of a knife in a public place in Bury St Edmunds.

Following a stop and search in Tayfen Road yesterday evening, the teenager was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a bladed item.

He was then taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where he was charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

He has been bailed to appear before Suffolk Magistrates' Court on June 29.
