Teenager arrested in Bury after police confiscate bag stuffed with weapons
A teenage boy was arrested in Bury St Edmunds after police confiscated a bag stuffed with weapons.
Police found the bag which contained a number of weapons including knives as well as a baseball bat embedded with nails and a BB gun during a stop and search on Saturday (May 26).
Officers were initially called just after 2pm to reports of a theft at Debenhams in Bury St Edmunds.
At a different location, they later stopped and searched a 15-year-old boy, who was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a knife/bladed article, possession of an offensive weapon and for going equipped to steal.
He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre and was later released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Tweeting an image of the weapons, Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Policing and Firearms Unit said: "This image shows the importance of effective #StopSearch. These weapons have been taken off the street."
