Teenager stabbed and hit in Exeter Way, Thetford, by gang of 10




An incident which saw a teenage boy stabbed in the leg and hit in the head by a gang in a Thetford street is being investigated by police.

On Wednesday, at about 11.50pm, group of approximately 10 people dressed in black and carrying knives approached the victim in Exeter Way, before stabbing him in the leg and hitting him in the head.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the teenage boy was taken to West Suffolk Hospital by ambulance.

He has now been released from hospital and is recovering .

Detective Sergeant Mark Tate said: “We know this incident may have caused some concern in the community and we will be conducting reassurance patrols in the area.

“Inquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident and we would be keen to hear from anyone who can help with our investigation.”

Two men in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of assault (GBH) and possession of an offensive weapon and are being interviewed at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.
