Suffolk teenager named as a 'Rising Star' by UK Power Networks
A Suffolk teenager has been named as a ‘Rising Star’ by his employer.
Cameron Carne, 19, from Onehouse, Suffolk, won the award UK Power Networks’ annual Living Our
Values awards, as 'one to look out for in future' for his maturity and interactions with colleagues,
the public, trainers and management.

He is based at the firm’s Ipswich depot working on new electrical connections, or fixing power
cuts involving high voltage underground cables.
He said: “This is exactly what I wanted to do. I came to the company for work experience and then
applied for an apprenticeship.
"I didn’t want to be stuck in an office. All my friends have gone to university but an apprenticeship is a great way to work and learn.”
He has recently finished his apprenticeship and said he was honoured to be presented with the award by his employer, which is the UK largest electrical distributor that supplies power to 8.3 million customers in the East, London and the South East.
