Sneaky Links, in Brentgovel Street, Bury St Edmunds, wins 14+ licence change
A town businessman said his successful licence change application has opened his mini golf bar up to a new channel.
Ben Cunningham, owner of Sneaky Links in Brentgovel Street, Bury St Edmunds, will now be able to welcome teenagers from 14 and up to his venue on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Formerly, it was an 18+ only bar. The application to West Suffolk Council sought to vary its licence to allow 14+ individuals in.
To enforce age limits, Sneaky Links will use a wristband system to differentiate between those with and without ID showing them to be over the age of 18.
Ben said: “It’s a whole new opportunity for us. It’s a different group of people to enjoy the course and the game.
“People have been saying for a really long time their teenagers would love it but we haven’t been able to offer them it.”
The first 14+ day will be tomorrow.
Ben said it will not mean anything different for regular 18+ customers, there just may be some younger people around.
As for why teenagers should come and give Sneaky Links a go, Ben said: “It’s the coolest thing to do in Bury.
“Great music, great artwork, fun crazy golf and a great place to meet your friends.”
