Bury St Edmunds charities supporting armed forces, veterans and their families could have a share in over £100,000 of funding raised by Tesco's Bags of Help scheme.

Money spent on 5p bags bought in the supermarket will go towards the chosen charities.

Anyone can nominate an organisation for the shortlist which will be revealed in October and the chosen three charities will receive the funds from over November and December.

Customers will token vote to choose their preferred projects, meaning each of the charities could receive £1000, £2000 or £4000.

Since it launched in 2016 Bags of Help has awarded over £56million worth of grants to more than 16,000 projects across England, Scotland and Wales.
