Flood alerts in place including near Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, Diss, Eye, Harleston and Bungay as heavy rain and winds to lash Suffolk
Flood alerts are in place across Suffolk with the county set to be lashed by heavy rain and winds today.
The Environment Agency has issued several alerts across the county, with yellow weather warnings in place from the Met Office.
The alerts, where flooding is possible, include:
Little Ouse River and River Thet in Suffolk and Norfolk
- Areas most at risk are around the Little Ouse River from Rickinghall to Hockwold, including The Black Bourn, and River Thet from Attleborough to Thetford.
River Lark in Suffolk
- Areas most at risk are around the River Lark from Sicklesmere to Isleham.
The River Waveney from Diss and the River Dove to Ellingham, including Bungay
- Areas most at risk are low lying roads and riverside areas around Diss, Eye, Harleston and Bungay.
The tidal River Waveney from Ellingham to Breydon Water
- Including Beccles Quay, Oulton Broad, Somerleyton, St Olaves, Haddiscoe and Belton.
The weather warnings for rain and wind are until 6pm.
