The Suffolk roadworks you need to know about over the next few weeks, including closures in Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Lowestoft
Suffolk drivers will face delays in the coming weeks, as the following roadworks take place:
The Terrace: Closed until November 12 due to Suffolk County Council work. Diversion route in place, delays likely.
Northgate: September 14, 15 and 16. Road closure and diversion route due to Cadent gas work and street work.
Bury St Edmunds
Horsecroft Road: Closed until September 17
Market Thoroughfare: Until April 5, 2022. Diversion route due to works by Suffolk County Council.
Northgate roundabout: September 14 to September 17. Lane closure and traffic light control due to Suffolk County Council work.
St Andrew’s Street South: Until May 29, 2022. Scaffolding by the Cornhill development site causing some carriageway incursions. Works being carried out by Suffolk County Council.
Western Way: Until December 24. Temporary pedestrian crossing to Western Way near Abbeygate Sixth Form College.
Beach Station Road: September 21 to 24. Multi-way traffic signals in place as Anglian Water work carried out.
Candlet Road: Work scheduled until December 17. Two-way traffic lights in place due to Suffolk County Council work.
High Street: September 19. Multi-way traffic control to allow for Anglian Water works.
High Street East and Cliff Road: Until September 22. Multi-way traffic signals due to BT work.
Mill Lane and Garrison Lane: September 15 to 21. Multi-way traffic signals due to T Mobile work.
Victoria Street: Until September 14. Traffic control measures in place as Anglian Water carry out work.
Market Place: Until April 9, 2022. Road closure and diversion route due to Suffolk County Council work.
Station Road: September 16. Roadworks between 9.30am and 3.30pm for BT work.
Bridge Street: Until 13. Two-way signals due to Anglian Water work.
Bridge Street and Thoroughfare: Until February 13, 2022. Road closure due to Suffolk County Council work.
High Street and Queen Street: Closed until December 15 for Suffolk County Council roadworks.
Camps Road: Temporarily one way only (westbound) until December 15.
Chalkstone Way: Roadworks until September 14. Two-way signals in place.
Upper Brook Street: Until June 10, 2022. Road closure and diversion routes due to Suffolk County Council work.
Portman Road: September 13 and 14 - diversion in place.
West End Road: From September 22 to 24. Road closure and diversions in place.
Silent Street: Closed on September 19 and 20 as Cadent Gas Network carries out work.
Soane Street: Closed September 16 and 17 for essential street works.
Aldeburgh Road: From September 20 to 22. Traffic control (multi-way signals).
Denmark Road and Rotterdam Road: Until April 1 2023. Multi-way traffic signals due to Suffolk County Council work.
Peto Way: Until April 1, 2023. Multi-way traffic signals due to work from Suffolk County Council.
Rotterdam Road and Church Road: September 15 and 16. Multi-way traffic signals.
Waveney Drive: Closed until 31 Mar 2022. Diversions in place.
Wilde Street: Road closure due to CityFibre work from September 23 to 29.
North Terrace: September 20 to 24. Traffic control multi-way signals in place.
Brandon Road: From September 20 to 24. Closed for installation of road studs by Suffolk County Council.
Palace Street: Until September 16. Road closure due to Suffolk County Council work.
Exning Road: September 10. Installation of kneel rail and post to grass verge. Traffic light controls in place.
Centre Drive: September 20 to 24. Road closure while Cadent carries out work.
Navigation Approach: September 13 to 15. Two-way signals due to Suffolk County Council work.
Chilton Way: September 15 to 17. Two-way traffic signals.
Market Hill: Until December 26. Road closure due to Suffolk County Council work.
Newton Road, Northern Road and Shawlands Avenue: September 13 to 24. Multi-way traffic signals due to GTC work.
Sandy Lane: September 20 to 24 from Bulmer Road until Church Road. Diversion in place.
