Bury St Edmunds Theatre Royal and Maison Bleue to offer tasty treats

A pair of Bury St Edmunds institutions have joined forces to give theatre goers a taste of decadence before their shows.

The Theatre Royal has partnered with award-winning independent town restaurant, Maison Bleue, by serving a selection of its gourmet LÉA ready meals range of cold starters, mains and desserts.

Owen Calvert-Lyons, artistic director of the theatre, said: "We are so excited to welcome LÉA to the Theatre Royal family. I have been lucky enough to sample the dishes we will be offering and I think our audiences are going to love them."

Some of the dishes that audiences can enjoy will include smooth chicken liver parfait, olive tapenade, fresh salads and chocolate mousse with salted butter caramel which can be eaten in the Greene Room Bar.

All food options will need to be pre-ordered up to 72 hours before performances as each dish is made fresh to order by the LÉA team.

Emma Suckling, head of development at the theatre, said: "This is a really exciting partnership for Theatre Royal and we can’t wait to begin working with Maison Bleue and continue this relationship with such a wonderful, local, fine dining restaurant. Through this partnership, Maison Bleue will also become a main sponsor."

Tasters of the food option will be available on the opening night of 'The Secret Garden' on August 19 and fully launched on September 19, with the showing of 'Romeo and Juliet Retold'.
