Bury St Edmunds Theatre Royal and Barnardo’s Helpers Group team up for summer clothing fashion show featuring local brands
Visitors will be in with the chance to see a sneak peek of summer clothing collections from local fashion brands next week as the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds hosts a fundraising fashion show.
Raising money for Suffolk Barnardo’s Helpers Group (BHG), as well as much-needed funds for the Theatre Royal itself, the show promises a preview of the new trends and an extravagant on-stage shopping experience after.
There will be drinks in the reception starting at 7pm on May 10, with the show kicking off at 7.30pm, as well as a prize draw and the chance to shop from brands including Javelin, Olivia Benn, Faro and Trotter & Deane.
Ten per cent of the proceeds of clothes sales on the night will go to Barnardo’s and the Theatre Royal.
Emma Suckling, head of development at the theatre, said: “At Theatre Royal, as a registered charity, we have to raise in excess of £200,000 each year in order to ensure our financial stability and to allow the huge raft of work that we do in the community and with young people to continue.
“Fundraising events form a big part of our annual fundraising efforts and we were delighted when our Trustee, Emma Fisher, suggested we work together with Barnardo’s to present a fashion show.
“Her amazing Barnardo’s Helpers Group have brought together an exquisite group of local retailers and brands to take part in this event which promises to be a brilliant evening!
“Tickets to Front Row Fashion Show include a pre-show reception, an exclusive on-stage shopping experience and the chance to be wowed by the catwalk in our beautiful auditorium,” she added.
Tickets, which are limited, can be bought here.
