Suffolk police shocked after shooting of five goshawks, which were dumped in King's Forest near Bury St Edmunds and Thetford

Officers have expressed their shock over the shooting of five young hawks.

The birds, all goshawks, were dumped in the King's Forest, between Bury St Edmunds and Thetford.

Police are appealing for information, and have asked those responsible to come forward.

A spokesperson for Suffolk police said: "Here’s a chance for the shooting community to protect its reputation and its future.

"Do the right thing. Tell us who shot these five young goshawks dumped in the Kings Forest.

"This is shocking and there should be no hiding place for the culprit and there is no place for this in 2023."
