These are the Suffolk neighbourhoods with the highest Covid-19 case rates
Lowestoft, Ipswich and Newmarket are the areas in Suffolk with the highest coronavirus case rates, the latest data reveals.
As of last Friday, there were 10,658 cases of Covid-19 across the county, at a case rate of 1,400.1 per 100,000 people.
These were the areas where case rates were highest:
1. Lowestoft Central - 2,496.5 cases per 100,000
2. Gipping and Chantry Park - 2,250.1 cases per 100,000
3. Whitton - 2,241.8 cases per 100,000
4. South Newmarket and Racecourse - 2,136.8 cases per 100,000
5. Oulton Broad West - 2,086.8 cases per 100,000
6. Oulton - 2,080.4 cases per 100,000
7. Gunton West - 2,064.6 cases per 100,000
8. Pakefield North - 1,955.4 cases per 100,000
9. Beccles - 1,859.4 cases per 100,000
10. Great Cornard - 1,807 cases per 100,000
The area with the lowest case rate was Yoxford, Wenhaston and Walberswick. The case rate there was 642.4 per 100,000 people.
It comes after a troublesome week for Boris Johnson, who on Wednesday admitted to attending a party at No 10 Downing Street in May 2020, when England was in lockdown.
The Prime Minister has faced calls to resign following the revelations, including from the leader of the Scottish Conservatives, Douglas Ross.
