These are the Suffolk neighbourhoods with the highest Covid-19 case rates




Boris Johnson announced earlier this week all Covid-19 regulations, including the requirement to isolate after testing positive, are to be abolished in England within two weeks.

Some have seen his move as a political one, while others have welcomed the decision.

Matt Hancock, MP for West Suffolk, tweeted on Wednesday evening: "A year ago, I was saying we need to learn to live with Covid like flu. Now, at last, that is becoming a reality.

With the Government's announcement on Wednesday, these are the areas in Suffolk with the highest Covid-19 case rates:

1. Fornham, Great Barton and Rougham - 2,028.3 cases per 100,000 people

3. Ixworth, Honington and Barnham - 1,561.8 cases per 100,000 people

4. Whitehouse - 1,555.4 cases per 100,000 people

5. Howard Estate and Northgate - 1,549.3 cases per 100,000 people

6. Lowestoft Central - 1,521.8 cases per 100,000 people

7. Brandon - 1,483.9 cases per 100,000 people

8. Stowmarket West - 1,424.1 cases per 100,000 people

9. Red Lodge, Icklingham and Moulton - 1,403.1 cases per 100,000 people

10. Moreton Hall - 1,389.8 cases per 100,000 people

As of February 4, there were 7,948 cases of coronavirus in Suffolk, down from 9,406 on January 28.
