A Thetford community fun day that has raised more than £30,000 for charity is set for its sixth year.

Fuzion Thetford, organised by Juliet Garnham, Louise Dixon, Amy Messenger and Sharon Wing, will be on Melford Common on August 11 from 11am.

Juliet said: “It started as a smaller event in 2013 at the Carnegie Rooms, after the re-branding as ‘Fuzion Thetford’ and it expanded to a much larger outdoor event in 2015.”

Not only will the event have its Holi Style Paint Fight, consisting of powdered paint colours, but will also include a dog show, a ‘Meet the Dinosaurs’ experience, petting zoo, fun fair, live music and a sponsored Zumbathon with more than 150 people dancing in the main arena.

Since the beginning, the events have raised £39,143 and this year’s charities are East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, TimeNorfolk, and St Nicholas Hospice Care, which Juliet and the other organisers think fit perfectly.

She said: “The charities were chosen due to personal reasons close to the organisers. We have in the past supported the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and BigC.

“But we have now settled with our charities as they are not only close to our hearts, but also smaller, local charities who may benefit more from the money raised.”
