Thetford magician and Britian’s Got Talent finalist James Samuel has returned home and thanked supporters who helped the act he is part of, 4MG, get to the final show of the ITV programme.

Along with Harry Nardi, 18, Theo Mallalieu, 17, and Josh Horus, 17, the 19-year-old still is coming to terms with what they achieved in a short space of time.

James said: “It has just been the most surreal experience of my life, to go up against some professional performers, as four friends going out on to the stage, and getting to the final was absolutely incredible.

“We have had requests to perform all over the world and gained 20,000 followers in a week online – it is just surreal.”

James, who started doing magic at the age of four, said since the final he’d had so many people come up to him, when he was walking around Thetford, asking for photographs with him.

The magician said he always wanted to promote where he came from, while on the show, and hoped to help the town even more.

He said: “I am all about my home town and I hope to get involved in youth programmes here, inspiring people in Thetford to show them that if they really want something and really work for it they can get it.”

“The support here has been mind-blowing, and on Facebook and Instagram, I am trying to get round to answering all the messages, I really appreciate it all and to come back and feel the love is incredible.”

James said magic was all that he had ever wanted to do and though 4MG appreciated that the show gave them a chance to show the world their magic, they did not want to stop there.

He said: “I would really like to get into school, colleges and universities inspiring more children and adults, and we are hoping to look at a 4MG tour to thank all our supporters around the UK too.”
